Following a successful November which saw Joe Schmidt's team record wins against three top ten sides - South Africa, Fiji and Argentina - Ireland leapfrogged Australia, swapping places with the Wallabies in the rankings.

The All Blacks remain at the top with England in second. Argentina and France are the only other two sides to make moves. The Pumas are now ahead of France in the rankings, swapping places with Guy Noves's side, who are now ninth with Argentina in eighth.

This month, Argentina recorded a win against Italy and also defeats to England and Ireland while France failed to notch a victory, losing to both New Zealand and South Africa and drawing with Japan.
