A 37-man training squad has been named for Ireland's Guinness Six Nations game against France in Dublin this weekend.

The squad sees Sean Cronin, who started last month's game against Italy, dropped from the group. Ulster pair Rory Best and Rob Herring, along with Munster's Niall Scannell are the hookers in the squad.

Robbie Henshaw is also absent. The Leinster centre was yesterday said to be recovering from injury slower than it had been hoped. Henshaw has been out of action since suffering a dead leg during the opening game of the tournament against England.

Leinster out-half Ross Byrne has also been named in the squad. He is one of four out-halves along with Johnny Sexton, Joey Carbery and Jack Carty.

Carbery was yesterday said to be making progress on the hamstring injury which ruled him out of the win against Italy.

Kieran Marmion has also returned from injury.
