A survey for Ulster Bank has discovered that Mike Brown is the English player Irish fans would most like to have in Joe Schmidt's squad for the World Cup.

A quarter of people surveyed cited the Quins full back as their choice. It probable that Brown will miss the crucial game at the Aviva this weekend with Alex Goode likely to replace him.

Out-half Owen Farrell and second row Courtney Lawes both garnered 20% of the vote.

The survey also revealed that fans believe Conor O'Shea is the best Irish coach working in the game. The Harlequins coach got 64% of the vote with Bernard Jackman receiving 18% and Mark McCall getting 10%.
