Leinster took advantage of the All Blacks being in Dublin last weekend by reportedly taking in a meeting with winger Israel Dagg.

According to the Irish Independent's Ruaidhri O'Connor, Dagg is a target for the province who are considering options to replace Zane Kirchner. The South African back, a 2013 signing, is out of contract this summer and is unlikely to pen a new deal.

Dagg started on the wing for New Zealand against Ireland at the weekend, being preferred to Waisake Naholo who was in the All Black starting XV which took on Ireland in Chicago.

The 60-cap international was one of his side's best players. The New Zealand Herald, in their player ratings for the game, described him as being the All Blacks' best option on the wing at the moment.

From unwanted fullback to NZ's best wing. All class as runner and playmaker.

The signing of Dagg, currently with the Canterbury Crusaders, would require IRFU go-ahead, along with the fending off of advances from several Top 14 clubs.

Dagg would be an impressive signing for Leinster and certainly one which would have fans more excited than the acquisition of Kirchner three years ago.
