It seems that with Johnny Sexton returning to Leinster for next season that someone had to go. Leinster have now confirmed that New Zealander Jimmy Gopperth will leave the province at the end of the season to join Wasps. It's not clear how long the deal will be for.

Gopperth will re-join the Premiership, after joining Leinster from Newcastle Falcons. The former Waikato Cheif will have a chance to play against his new team when Leinster travel to Coventry to play for Wasps in the final pool game of the Champions Cup.

Gopperth, who won the Premiership Golden Boot award in 2010 and 2011, will be replacing Andy Goode, who has been offered a coaching job with Wasps. Wasps have also announced that winger Tom Varndell will be leaving the club, having signed a two year deal with Bristol.
