With Munster a converted try down against Clermont on Saturday and desperately in need of a spark, the man many supporters of the province were calling for was JJ Hanrahan. He was not introduced though and now it seems frustration with his lack of a consistent role in the Munster team could see him leaving Thomond Park.

Gerry Thornley in The Irish Times today reports that Hanrahan has been offered a deal worth €190,000 a year by Aviva Premiership club Northampton. He adds that the deal is not yet sealed but that it will more than likely happen despite Munster management being keen to retain the back's services.

The Kerryman would join the likes of George North, Ben Foden, Ken and George Pisi and Courtney Lawes at the club. Stephen Myler is the incumbent out-half with the east midlands side.
