Games between England and Wales rarely go off without a hitch. The lead-up to the game was full of mind-games - with both teams accusing the other scrum of playing illegally.

It's perhaps no surprise then that Dan Cole was sin-binned, and Tomas Francis was incredibly lucky not to join him. But that wasn't the only front-row clash in the game. Six Nations chiefs have confirmed they are investigating reports that England looshead Joe Marler called Wales prop Samson Lee "a gypsy boy".

The words were heard on the referee's mic during a first half coming together, before the pair start pushing and shoving each other:

Lee has been very open about his heritage, but the Six Nations chief confirmed to Wales Online that they are looking into it:

We are aware of the incident and we will be investigating. It is certainly a matter we take very seriously. We will need to fully review the match and speak to all the relevant parties.

Marler sought out Lee to apologise for his comments at half-time according to the RFU:

That wasn't the only flashpoint of the game that Marler was involved with. Footage emerged showing Marler hit a defenseless Welsh prop Rob Evans with what appears to be a deliberate elbow on the ground:

Between Marler and Francis, the citing commisioner should be busy this week after this game.
