St. Munchin's won their first Munster Schools Junior Cup in 20 years on Wednesday afternoon when they defeated Christian Brothers College 15-10 in the final at Thomond Park.

The score of the game came early in the second half through a familiar surname for Ireland and Munster fans.

Alexander Wood, playing out-half for St. Munchin's, sent the CBC defence into disarray with a scything 45-metre run. The score put Munchin's ahead 13-5 with the extras also kicked to give the Limerick school a 10-point lead.

Alexander is the son of former Ireland captain Keith Wood.
