The announcement that Castore will be taking over from Adidas as Leinster's new kit manufacturers, was not met with much enthusiasm.

Having bullied their way into the football jersey market, they have developed a reputation for poor quality jerseys and uninspiring designs, including the new Ireland football shirts.

Furthermore, Adidas' last Leinster kit was one of the nicest in years, and they have only recently dropped multiple Munster jerseys that have been met with all-round acclaim.

However, Leinster will not be the first rugby team that have employed Castore, and the rugby kits they have produced look a lot more palatable than their football efforts.

Harlequins And Saracens

Castore's efforts at Harlequins and Saracens are commendable, in particular their unique design for the Premiership winners.

The classic Harlequins 'four coloured squares' look is hard to mess up, but their on Saracen's away white product, while being a bit out there and funky, does work.

Leinster's jerseys over the past decade have been fairly standard, with few memorable efforts. If Castore can add some flair, even if they miss the mark, it will come as a welcome change.

For those of you who prefer more of a 'no-collar soccer jersey' look, then there is a chance you may get your wish, as Castore have gone down this rout with their USA Rugby kits.

Their navy training t-shirt is also one of the nicest tops they have produced. Imagine it with a Leinster crest and four yellow stars, and it wouldn't look out of place being strutted around Ballsbridge.

Lastly, we can't ignore their rugby league kits.

These are gems, with the classic league triangle design, and the double crest on the shoulders making for a very satisfying look.

Obviously, Leinster won't be getting anything remotely similar to the Sydeny Roosters or Melbourne Storm, but there's no harm in dreaming.
