Now it has emerged that Irish billionaire Denis O'Brien has played a key part in bring Sexton home. According to The Sunday Times the 29-year-old will sign a commercial deal with a Denis O'Brien-owned company that will go someway to bridging the gap between what he could have earned in the Top 14 and what he can earn in Ireland.

Gavin Cummiskey in The Irish Times says that this deal would put Sexton's earnings in the region of what Jamie Heaslip currently makes, around €600,000 per annum. Staying in the Top 14 would have been significantly more lucrative for the out-half where he could possibly have made €900,000 a year.
