With just over 90 seconds left on the clock between Leinster and Glasgow at the RDS on Friday night, the thoroughly unexpected happened when the lights went out.

It would be nearly 20 minutes before the game before illumination was restored and the game could be finished. The seven-try thriller finished as a one-point win, 31-30, for Leinster.

Leinster later said the blackout happened due to the failure of both the main generator and backup generator for the stadium.

The lights going out did provide Sportsfile with the opportunity to take some wonderful pictures of the surreal scenes.

Thanks to Guy Boggan, we've also got some video of what it was like at the game when the power cut.
