It was an emotional day yesterday for the rugby world, as the community struggled to come to terms with the unexpected death of 34-year-old Jerry Collins in an unfortunate car crash.

The outpouring of grief is a testament to the man, who once turned out for a lower-league English club side while on holiday.

Last night, Chris Masoe of Toulon paid his respects to Collins. Masoe was Collins' teammate with the Hurricanes and New Zealand, and may have made more caps for the All Blacks had Collins not blocked his path.
