When the London Pie Eating Championships were launched yesterday the organiser decided to get a local celebrity to help give the event some publicity. Someone who embodies the spirit of pie eating. They chose Matt Stevens.
Stevens took on some of his Saracens teammates to see who could eat a laverstoke pie the fastest. Steven polished his off the quickest, only taking 1 minute and 22 seconds to devour his pie.
