Munster have confirmed the signings of Argentina international Lucas González Amorosino and Australia born Sean Doyle on three month contracts.

Amorosino's signing was let out of the bag by the player himself earlier this week. It was thought that the full-back/winger will join Munster on a three month contract before linking up with Argentina's new Super Rugby franchise ahead of the 2016 season.

Given the timing of this announcement, it's fair to assume that Amorosino will act as a temporary replacement for Felix Jones who was forced to announce his premature retirement on Wednesday.

It had been speculated that Amorosino's Pumas teammate Leonardo Senatore, could also be brought in as cover for the injured duo of Tommy O'Donnell and Peter O'Mahony. However, Munster have instead decided to bring in a man with quite a bit of experience of Irish rugby.

Australian born and bred, Sean Doyle joined Ulster in 2012 before returning home to join the Brumbies two years later. While he may not have the international experience of Senatore, Doyle was certainly a loss to Ulster in 2014 judging by what Mark Anscombe had to say at the time.

The one that stands out for me and who I'd be most regretful of all to be losing is Sean Doyle. I think he's got the potential to be an outstanding loose forward.

When you consider how big a loss O'Mahony and O'Donnell will be for the opening rounds of the Champions Cup, Munster fans will be hoping that potential has blossomed significantly in his time with the Brumbies.
