Jono Gibbes will be the new head coach of Ulster from next season according to Peter O'Reilly of the Sunday Times.

O'Reilly reports that Gibbes will be given a two-year contract which will see him succeed Neil Doak in the role and team up with Director of Rugby Les Kiss.

Gibbes is currently forwards coach with Clermont, a job which he took up in 2014 after six years with Leinster in the same role. Gibbes was part of the Leinster backroom team which won three Heineken Cups under Michael Cheika and Joe Schmidt.

The 40-year-old, who won eight caps for the All Blacks, was recently linked with the Connacht head coach job but reportedly made in clear that he was not in the running.

Gibbes's contract with Clermont runs until 2018 but an offer of a head coaching position could release him from the deal with the Top 14 side.
