Connacht have been drawn against Paddy Jackson's new club, Perpignan, in the pool stage of the 2018/19 Challenge Cup.

They will also face Bordeaux-Begles and Sale Sharks.

Earlier this month, the 26-year-old Jackson signed a two-year deal with the French club.

Jackson had his contract revoked by the IFRU and Ulster Rugby in April following the events of a rape trial in which he was involved.

At the time of his signing, Perpignan's sporting director, Christian Lanta, called Jackson both a "proven kicker" and a "talented playmaker".

On Tuesday, Jackson began pre-season training with the Top 14 side.

"I want to find my best level quickly, I may be a little rusty but not too much. I will learn the culture of the team, I will recover ground and that's good," he told L'Equipe.
