Video: Peter Clohessy's Supremely Blunt And Succinct Response To The Haka In 1989

There was a special moment seven years ago when Munster took on the All Blacks at Thomond Park. The Irish province's four New Zealand players - Rua Tipoki, Jeremy Manning, Lifeimi Mafi and Doug Howlett - performed a Haka of their own before the entire Munster squad faced up to one from the All Blacks.

Previous to that, the last time that Munster played the All Blacks was in 1989 losing 31-9. A young Peter Clohessy was in the Munster team that day and the prop issued a less than cordial response to the Haka, telling the travelling side "fuck ye". You can see 'The Claw' front and centre of the Munster line in the video above.

A week later, an Irish team lead by Willie Anderson issued their own challenge to the New Zealanders.
