Who'd have guessed it, Sky's Graeme 'Give'us a hug Shawsie' Simmons pointlessly asking Tadhg Furlong about his white boots and then insisting that the camera pan down to Furlong's bare feet wasn't the most writhingly cringey post-game interview conducted at the Avivia today.

Nope, that went on down on TG4, as Reggie Corrigan inexplicably decided to ask Peter O'Mahony if he felt his teammates failed to deliver the requisite intensity on the field, which earned a bracingly hostile reaction from O'Mahony.

After the interview, O'Mahony spoke to the rest of the journalists present, and the issue of that interview popped up.

O'Mahony said that it  was a "silly question", and then explained his reaction to RTE:

Essentially he’s calling myself and my team-mates out, saying we’re not trying hard enough, questioning are we working hard enough and do we want it enough.

I’m a very proud man, a very proud Munster man, a very proud Irish man and that’s a question of the core of everything.

Everything we do in Munster rugby and Irish rugby is based around work-rate and your want to win and how relentless you can be and for someone to question that I’d take huge offence to.

Go on, here it is, if you're brave enough to watch it.
