Fifth-place Munster welcome Scarlets to Musgrave Park this Friday night for their round 15 URC clash. They head into the game just two points behind fourth-place Glasgow and will be looking for a bonus point win to make a push for the top four.

The Irish province are seen as heavy favourites, albeit with an inexperienced team that is missing a large cohort of their squad to Six Nations duty.

RG Snyman returns for Munster

While Munster may be going into the game without star lock Tadhg Beirne, RG Snyman looks set to make his long-awaited rugby return after being named on the bench for Friday's game.

Snyman arrived on these shores in 2020 but his time there has been plagued by injuries. After rupturing his ACL on his Munster debut in 2020 and suffering setbacks in his rehab, as well as an infamous fire pit accident, the Springbok was sidelined until late 2021.

Upon his return, Snyman played just three games for the province before disaster struck again with the same injury.

Despite worries that Cork's artificial pitch might hinder his return, Denis Leamy has confirmed it won't be an issue. Should he play this weekend, it will be just his fifth Munster game since 2020 and his first taste of action in nearly seventeen months.

Snyman arrived at Munster off the back of a world cup winning season with the Springboks that saw him appear in every single game of that campaign. A sold-out Musgrave park will be hoping that he finds that form again under the Friday night lights.

If his last return is anything to go by, the place will be absolutely bouncing come 7:35pm on Friday night.

Munster fans ecstatic about Snyman's return

Snymans's return has caused the Munster faithful to go absolutely mad on social media and why wouldn't they?

Not only is it great to see a player oh his ability back in red after such a difficult time, but having a world cup winner fit and available for selection is a huge bonus.

It should be a fantastic occasion.
