Ronan O'Gara's time with La Rochelle has been defined by terrific on-field success, and tense clashes off the pitch.

The Munster legend has been head coach at the French club since 2019, and led them to an historic first ever Champions Cup triumph last summer.

He has also led them to the previous year's final, and has seen them become a force to be reckoned with in European rugby.

Nonetheless, he has been involved in a few altercations on the sideline which have landed him in hot water. O'Gara has spent several weeks of this season banned from the touchline for two separate incidents which saw him caught up with match officials.

Last April, O'Gara clashed with Bordeaux coach Christophe Urious on the touchline, but this year's game against Bordeaux brought an altogether more wholesome moment from the La Rochelle coach.

Nonetheless, O'Gara took the time to make the kid's day and even helped him out with his tackling technique.

O'Gara would go on to enjoy a very thorough win for his La Rochelle side, as they cruised to a 36-6 defeat away to Bordeaux - a massive result in their Top 14 hopes.

The result puts them comfortably in second place, five points clear of the chasing Stade Francais, with Bordeaux a further three points behind. Finishing in the top two would put La Rochelle straight through to the semi-finals of the play-offs, in what would be a huge step towards a first ever Top 14 title.
