A game up in the Scottish Borders has produced one of the most bizarre endings to a rugby match we have seen.

Gala Wanderers were taking on Hawick Youth, and has scored a last minute try to leave them needing the conversion - which was the last pay of the game - to snatch a draw.

With the kick dropping short, Hawick began to celebrate and their scrum-half rushed out and jubilantly kicked the ball before it reached the ground.

However, he ended up miss hitting it over the bar, with the touch judge behind the post aware that he may just have squandered the win for his side.

And indeed he did with the referee confirming that the conversion would count.
