We honestly don't know what to say about this, but here's Ren-G, the official mascot for the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

We've a feeling you'll be seeing a lot more of Ren-G between now and the tournament next year.
The 2019 Rugby World Cup will take place in Japan, who have form in this regard.
Their last effort, along with South Korea, was probably worse. Here, in case you don't remember, are The Spheriks, the official mascot of the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Naturally, people are pretty confused.
Is it supposed to be a cat? 🤔

What has happened to the once noble mascot profession? Poor Ciao is turning in his grave.
