Scotland secured a huge 52-29 Autumn Nations Series win over Argentina this afternoon, in what was a hectic game where six cards were shown.

Argentina were, at one point, down to just 12 men, following a first-half red card for Marcos Kremer - after reckless play at a ruck - and yellow cards for Matias Alemanno and Tomas Lavanini.

Scotland also had card trouble, and Argentina's Julian Montoya rubbed salt into their wounds as he sarcastically waved off and clapped the sin-binned Jamie Ritchie, when the referee's back was turned.

Despite Scotland's three man advantage, they managed to concede a fantastic 80 metre try from Argentina, courtesy of Emiliano Boffelli after a classy assist from Matias Orlando.

Finn Russell, who was not initially named in the Scotland squad for the Autumn Nations Series, started at ten and produced one of his trademark maverick performances in a man-of-the-match display.

"It was a good performance at times from us," said Russell after the match. "We still need to learn to play for the full 80 minutes. The boys did well at the end there - we defended our line for seven minutes when we're 30 points up.

"It's great to be back, I love playing at Murrayfield. It was good to be involved in it.

"It gives us confidence, there's lots we need to learn from and build from. The last couple of Tests, we've attacked well and our defence has been good.

"I'm enjoying myself, it's great fun to be a part of and we ran in some great tries," said Scotland captain Jamie Ritchie.

"We spoke in the week about wanting to be relentless, so when they got the red card that was the message.

"There's bits in there that we need to tidy up on, but when you put 50 points on any team that's a great performance.

"I've loved every minute of being captain. The boys have been great to me."
