South Africa have beaten Wales in an enthralling quarter-final but viewers on TV3 were probably more than a little distracted by the fact that pundit Shane Byrne didn't know they had gone back to air after the final whistle.

When asked by Tommy Martin if he would show a martian that match is they came to earth, Byrne replied with 'Is the martian good looking?' Following an awkward laugh, Martin asked Byrne to get on with the point, to which he replied 'The point is I'd love a pint.'

The fact that Byrne didn't realise they were on air is forgivable. His 'pint' joke is not.
