The best hit so far in Ireland Six Nations clash with England has not come from a player but from one of Twickenham’s security guards.

While the sides were lined up for the pre-match anthems, eagle eyed viewers spotted a pitch invader attempting to sneak into England’s lineup. Despite his best attempt to blend in with a full kit, his cover was quickly blown and he was promptly taken out with a hit that Courtney Lawes would be proud of.

You can see the incident below.

The problem of pitch invaders in rugby has been growing in recent times, with Daniel 'Jarvo' Jarvis probably the most notable.

Jarvo69, as he’s known online, is a notorious invader, and has made his way into a variety of sporting events from cricket to American football.

While the actions of today’s invader were similar to those of Jarvo, it is yet unconfirmed whether it was the work of the prolific prankster.

We reported on some of his previous work when he snuck onto the Aviva pitch before Ireland vs Japan in November. Some of his other antics include invading Wales vs New Zealand, bowling a ball in a test cricket match between England and India, and crashing an NFL game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

While Jarvo’s shtick is stupid and attention seeking, it is ultimately harmless, unlike the pitch invader in Wales’ game against South Africa last November. In that instance an intruder ruined a possible try for Wales.

UPDATE: Jarvo confirmed after the game that it was indeed him who was tackled by security

Ireland lead at halftime of the Six Nations fixture, with England down to 14 men following a red card for Charlie Ewels after head to head contact with James Ryan. Ryan had to be replaced by Iain Henderson.
