Stephen Ferris has warned Munster they will face a far tougher test against Leinster after their impressive victory over Munster.

Munster put their early season problems behind them as they earned a much needed 31-17 victory over the South African side as they hope to get their season back on track.

In the biggest game this weekend, they travel to the Aviva Stadium to take on arch rivals Leinster, who are the only side in the United Rigby Championship with a 100% record thi season.

Munster lost both games to Leo Cullen’s side last season, with the loss in the Aviva a costly one as they finished outside the top four against a very inexperienced Leinster team.

Despite recording their best performance of the season, Stephen Ferris still expects Leinster to keep their 100% record come Saturday night.

Speaking on the Buildup in association with Ladbrokes, Stephen Ferris claims to not read too much into Munster’s victory last weekend.

“Munster are back to winning ways, but one win against the Bulls side that I think were still in the pub last weekend. They didn’t actually get anything going in the game until 65,70 minutes.

It was the perfect game for Munster, that’s exactly what they needed. I’m not saying it was an easy hit out, bit a game that you’re going to win nine times out of ten.

While the Bulls were far from their best, Stephen Ferris claims Munster will take a lot of positives from their defensive display.

“I think the most pleasing thing about the Munster game was probably the last ten minutes. I know Graham Rowntree talked about that in his post-match interview about the heart and fight that they showed to keep the Bulls out, because the Bulls were just hammering away on their line.

They were resolute, they shut them off. Gave away numerous penalties but they managed to escape, and that was a really pleasing sign for Munster.”

Ahead of Saturday’s massive clash, Ferris has warned it will be a completely different test they face against Leinster.

“It’s going to be a different ball game going against Leinster. All the momentum is with Leinster. Are Munster back? They’re definitely not back with a bang from five or six years ago as we remember them, but thr definitely back into winning ways.

It’s another inter-pro derby and I’m sure they’ll be up for this one.”
