Midway through the first half of Toulouse and Lyon's Top 14 clash last weekend, Australian back row Tala Gray showed some remarkable sportsmanship towards an injured opponent.

With his side Toulouse on the attack just metres from the Lyon try line, Gray recognised that Lyon number eight Virgile Bruni was in severe pain.

Bruni had injured his knee in a ruck and was unable to move as the action continued on around him. Showing commendable compassion for Bruni's situation, Gray kneeled over the injured player to ensure he was not trampled on during a vulnerable moment.

Bruni later thanked Gray for his help.

L'Equipe reported during the week that Bruni suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and will miss the rest of the season.
