The Downside of Schools Rugby On TV

The Leinster schools cup is an exciting competion even if you don't have a horse in the race. The games can draw in the most casual of viewers desperate to escape the tedium of daytime TV. It is a win for both the schools and Setanta, the young players get to show their talent on a wide-reaching stage while for Setanta, because of the audience demographic the competition attracts, they have made a nice chunk of change on the whole experiment. These are all positive things however, anyone who went on twitter today and typed in Pres Bray was greeted by the horrifying downside.

The above messages are just a small sample size of the frankly vile abuse heaped towards the Pres outhalf.  He may not have the conventional body type of a outhalf but that should not be an opening for those who disected him on twitter with cheap shots about his appearance in a bid to garner attention for themselves. What these people need to remember is that they are talking about a sixteen to eighteen year old teenager, not an adult, a teenager, playing at an amateur level, not a professional one. Pres suffered  a 42-7 point loss to St.Michaels today and I am sure the outhalf is feeling down as it is without having to see the petty, vicious, cowardly and whole unneccessary comments made about his physical appearance on top of that.
