Gordon D'Arcy's unsurprising omission from the World Cup squad appeared to have been accepted gracefully by the man himself and had provided the saving grace of his Irish Times column, which looks very promising thus far.
But a photo taken at Dublin airport very early this morning appeared to suggest that D'Arcy is still pining to be involved in the World Cup set-up.

Naturally, he tried to pin the blame on his wife by suggesting that he had lost a bet with her and was thus obliged to stand in for this photo.
However, this is merely New Labour-esque spin, in our estimation.
