Ulster winger Robert Baloucoune has signed a new contract with the province that will see him stay with the province at least until 2025.

It has been an exciting time for the 24-year-old, who is fresh off a hat-trick against reigning champions Toulouse on Saturday in the Champions Cup.

The former sevens player has scored 15 tries since making his Ulster debut in 2018.

His performances across the last two seasons saw him earn his first cap for Ireland against the USA in the summer tests, scoring a solo try on his debut.

If he keeps up his form, it will be very difficult for Andy Farrell to keep him out of the side, with former England international Ugo Monye believing he done his chances no harm against Toulouse, when speaking on BT Sport.

“This is a game which propelled him into a different stratosphere. The aggressive defence is something that Andy Farrell will love, tracking back showing his pace both sides of the ball.

A hat-trick away, anywhere in the world, let alone in Toulouse, is outstanding.”

It is an exciting time for young talent at Ulster, with scrum half Nathan Doak becoming a key player this season, with James Hume and Michael Lowry earning their first Ireland caps in the Six Nations.

With Ulster currently sitting second in the URC and taking a six point lead back to Belfast on Saturday for the Champions Cup tie, there is a lot to be hopeful about for Ulster this month, and the Enniskillen winger will be a key part of everything they do.

Ulster head coach Dan McFarland spoke on his talent following his new contract:

"Rob is an exceptional talent, and it’s fantastic that a player of his calibre has committed their future to the province.

"Not only does he possess devastating pace, with the ability to score tries from anywhere, but he is also a superb defender, as he showcased against Toulouse.”
