It's almost Valentines' Day, so we at Balls.ie have been looking at some of the finest bromances in Irish sport. The case has already been made for Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane, and now we present our second nomination: Leinster and Ireland centre-buddies, Brian O'Driscoll and Gordon D'Arcy.

Now retired, both men must be content with keeping that bromance away from the prying eyes of the public but for over ten, wonderful years, it played out in the glare of TV cameras and floodlights. In Six Nations season, it's hard not to feel nostalgic for one of the great bromances.

Here, we remember its high points.

It occasionally got steamy...

...as they did everything together, from tackling...

They stuck up for each other...

They made sure they were turned out well...

They were there for each other in the worst of times...

But above all, they shared a lot of great days

So there you have, as fine a bromance as we can find in the bromantic world of rugby.

And don't forget that if you're struggling to find the words to tell your loved one how you feel this Valentine's  Day, we think you'll find Lidl Romeo Love Note Generator handy.

It's incredibly easy. Just go to www.LidlRomeo.ie and answer a few simple questions, and let the generator do all the work for you in seconds.

For example, if Darce couldn't find the right words for Drico this Valentine's Day, then this is how the Love Note Generator would save his hide.

Dear Drico
Though I might not always say it, you make me happy. Always.
I’m happy when it’s pissing rain and we’re cuddled up inside watching The Big Bang Theory.
I’m even happy to leave Shaggy and Rob early and come home to you for some spooning, especially when you’re Big Spoon.
I’m happy when we’re sharing Stilton Cheese.
I’m happy when we’re travelling to Biarritz and making exciting life plans.
Right now, we’re young and life is good. The rest of our lives are yet to be lived, and hopefully lived together.
How I know you’re the one for me, my darling Drico is that after all of these adventures, I’ll still be happy to sit down with you when we’re old and grey, fighting over who gets control of the remote, and to simply tell each other about our day.

Wonderful.

So are Brian and Gordon the greatest Bromance in Irish sport? We'll have the final contenders next week.
