The IRFU held it's press conference announcing, Joe Schmidt, as the new Ireland head coach today.

Not too much was given away though but Schmidt did intimate, when asked if he could convince Brian O'Driscoll to stay on one more year, that he would like to reciprocate the pressure that O'Driscoll had put on him. Presumably meaning that BOD had made overtures towards Schmidt in terms of taking the Ireland job.

He also joked that they had planted people in the crowd during Saturday's Amlin Challenge Cup semi-final win against Biarritz to start the "one more year" chants.
