Northampton landed the first try of the game, but they couldn't have done it without match day official JP Doyle's help. As English back row Jamie Gibson drove towards the line, he was swarmed by a host of Leicester defenders. However, Doyle dived into the ruck head first and spotted the ball touched down. He awarded the try, which would not have been possible without his intervention as the camera did not seem to capture it.

BT Sport's commentary team were full of praise for the inventful act. Doyle is a renowned referee with England, ever since he refereed the Premiership final back in 2014.
