Ulster have started their Champions Cup campaign in the best possible fashion, securing a hard fought 17-16 win away at Bath. While the opposition had the majority of the ball, Ulster capitalised well on the limited opportunities they were presented with.

It may have been a big win for the Irish side, but that wasn't the most notable thing to come out of the game.

There's nothing quite like a referee doing something out of the ordinary to raise the spirits. The official for the Ulster game, Marius Mitrea, had a bit of an equipment failure in the second half.

His whistle stopped working, and it was absolutely hilarious.

We've all played on some sort of match in our youth where the referee didn't have a whistle, but to see it at the top level of sport is definitely a bit strange. Fair play to him for soldiering on.

This is the second biggest news story relating to a whistle of all time, coming in just behind the famous Craggy Island whistle theft of 1996.
