Mark Allen today qualified for the final of the Scottish Open, and has said he has disrespected the competition having essentially been on the piss for the duration of the tournament. In spite of spending most of his matches hungover, however, he isn't changing his approach for Sunday's final where he will face either Judd Trump or Shaun Murphy.

Allen had a relatively early night last night, but found himself trailing today's semi-final against Daniel Wells 4-0 at the interval. Rather than going to a practice table to sharpen up, he instead found a bar and had a couple of drinks and returned to win the match 6-5.

"I had a couple of drinks at the interval and felt a bit better after it because I was really struggling out there", Allen told Eurosport.

Regrets notwithstanding, Allen isn't planning to change his approach for Sunday's final against either Judd Trump or Shaun Murphy.

It'll make no difference now, I've felt terrible all week, so I might as well just keep going. I could stay in tonight, go to bed early, and feel horrendous tomorrow. I'd deserve to feel that way for the disrespect I've showed the tournament....but I may as well go out and have a good time.

I only had four or five drinks last night and that's the worst I've felt [today]. Other nights I had more than my fair share and I've felt okay the next day. I felt horrendous when I woke up this morning...maybe I didn't have enough.
