Former Wimbledon ladies champion Marion Bartoli opened up about her horrifying illness on ITV's This Morning that has seen her lose 20 kg since her playing days.

Bartoli, who is only 31, doesn't know how she contradicted the illness which is so rare it doesn't have a name.

The 2013 Wimbledon champion said that she fears for her life, and described how her body is rejecting almost everything, including food, being around electronic devices, and water.

Bartoli said that she can't process protein - leaving her on a diet of salad leaves and cucumber with no skin.

I want to go back to a normal life. I have been reduced to eating organic salad leaves and pre-washed cucumber with no skin.

I cannot process protein. I just drink and drink and drink to get everything out.

I felt worse and my body rejected more and more things. I can’t type on the phone without gloves and for no more than five minutes as my heart will start to pump faster.

Bartoli revealed that she can't come into contact with tap water anymore, and must wash herself in mineral water:

It sounds like a truly terrifying ordeal, and we hope that doctors can figure out what's wrong with her so she can take some of her life back
