Last weekend's sporting calendar was decimated by Storm Emma as we were all left trapped in our homes with little sport to offer consolation. Thankfully, matters have been put right this weekend as the snow seems like a distant memory and the sporting world has produced a jam-packed viewing schedule.

Here at balls.ie we've congregated your essential guide to moving as little as possible this weekend. Strap in, as it all gets underway this Friday.

Friday

Ireland v Scotland, U20s Six Nations. RTE 2 7.15pm

A pretty big game for the Irish under 20s as a loss would see them drop to 5th, with only Italy keeping them from the bottom of the table.

Dundalk v Cork City, Airtricity League. Eir Sport 2 8.00pm

If you've elected to embargo rugby as a result of this week's suggestion it is the now the nation's sport, a cracking fixture is scheduled for Friday night as the leading challengers for the league go head-to-head.

Saturday

Hurricanes v Crusaders. Super Rugby. Sky Sports Action 6.35am

An early start on Saturday as Ronan O'Gara's Crusaders take on Hurricanes, who have the outstanding Beauden Barrett at out-half.

West Indies v Ireland. Cricket World Cup Qualifier. Sky Sports Mix. 7.25am

West Indies had been scheduled to travel to Ireland last year for a one-day international, but that fixture was canceled. They'll meet with significantly higher stakes this week.

Manchester United v Liverpool. Premier League. Sky Sports Main Event. 12.30pm

A crucial game in the battle for second. Historically, this has not been an entertaining fixture but given Man United's game against Crystal Palace and the form of Liverpool's front three, that may be set to change.

Ireland v Scotland. Six Nations. TV3. 2.15pm

A perfectly scheduled kick-off. Saturday's presents Ireland with the opportunity to win the Six Nations before a titanic clash with England.

France v England. Six Nations. TV3. 4.45pm

A game worth watching if for no other reason than to see the backlash to a surprise defeat last time out against Scotland. France are liable to do anything here.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace. BT Sport 1. 5.30pm

A bang-out-of-form Chelsea take on a Palace side in desperate need for points.

Aston Villa v Wolverhampton. Sky Bet Championship. Sky Sports Main Event. 5.30pm

If Aston Villa harbour any hopes of an automatic promotion spot they really can't afford to lose this game. A win would see them move just four points off top.

Tyrone v Donegal. Allianz League. Eir Sport 2. 7.00pm

A fixture that guarantees fireworks, particularly given Donegal's desperate need for points and the growing critic's of Tyrone's style.

Malaga v Barcelona. La Liga. Sky Sports Football. 7.45pm

Malaga have won three games this season and currently stuck at the bottom of the table. This offers a chance to see Barca run riot.

Match of the Day. Premier League highlights. BBC 1. 10.20pm

Recommended

A much-needed opportunity to catch up on the other games of the day, including Everton vs Brighton.

Sunday

Rangers v Celtic. SPL. Sky Sports Main Event. 12.00pm

After a Sunday morning lie-in, Sunday gets off to an unbelievable start with the old firm derby.

12.30pm - Galway v Monaghan, Division 1 football, TG4

Kevin Walsh's side have been superb thus far in the league and remain undefeated. Will be interesting to see how they approach a fixture against a side as organised as Monaghan.

Ireland v Scotland. Women's Six Nations. RTE 2. 1.00pm

A welcomed chance to make it three from four for Ireland, facing a Scottish side yet to win a game.

Arsenal v Watford. Premier League. Sky Sports. 1.30pm

Just how low can Arsene Wenger's decline go?

Juventus v Udinese. Seria A. ESPN. 2.00pm

One of the few leagues's in Europe with a genuine title race still on the cards, Juventus are breathing down Napoli's kneck and a win would ensure they keep the pressure on.

2.30pm - Galway v Limerick, Division 1B hurling, TG4

Essentially a promotion play-off, Galway have cruised in under the radar despite winning the league and All-Ireland last year and it will be interesting to see if they truly crave the spotlight of Division 1A.

Wales v Italy. Six Nations. TV3. from 2.00pm

Wales look to bounce back from their loss against Ireland and have the ideal fixture to do so.

Bournemouth v Tottenham. Premier League. Sky Sports. 4.00pm

Bournemouth have produced some superbly entertaining fixtures recently and take on a Tottenham team fresh from their mid-week Champions League clash.

Dublin v Kerry. Allianz League. Eir Sport 1. 4pm.

Dublin and Kerry on a spring Sunday in Croke Park. It doesn't get much better.

League Sunday. GAA highlights. RTE 2. 9.30pm

The highlights from an action-packed weekend of GAA.

Match of the Day 2. Premier League highlights. BBC 1. 10.35pm

Should you wish to prolong sleep, Sunday evenings Match of the Day 2 will show highlights from both the day's games.

Cavaliers v Lakers. NBA. BT Sport 1. 1.00am

Lebron James current club against what many expect to be his next club. The Cavaliers bizarrely traded several players to LA in return for very little recently, and there is no doubt Isaiah Thomas will be keen to show his former employer precisely what they are missing.
