14 Songs That Punk-Rock Teenage You Was Listening To In 2005

Oh this was a whole pile of fun to put together!

It's Noughties Tuesdays here on The Rewind and we took a trip down memory lane to look back at some of the punk rock songs of 2005 that captured our teenage hearts. This was an era of The OC and One Tree Hill. Bleached hair was all the rage, American teenage culture had fully infiltrated these shores and we were falling for the likes of My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy and Good Charlotte.

Now you'll have to forgive me because apparently I was using the term "punk rock" too loosely when putting together this list. In fact there are five extra songs at the end that apparently 'didn't qualify' as punk rock so I couldn't include them. But Godammit they were great tunes so I'm adding them in any way!

Arctic Monkeys - I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Fall Out Boy - Sugar We're Going Down

Weezer - Beverly Hills

All American Rejects - Dirty Little Secret

Green Day - Wake Me Up When September Ends

My Chemical Romance - Helena

The White Stripes - My Doorbell

Good Charlotte - I Just Wanna Live

Audioslave - Be Yourself

Bonus Rock Songs From 2005

Not punk rock but belters nonetheless...

Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc

The Foo Fighters - Best Of You

Kaiser Chiefs - I Predict A Riot

Razorlight - Somewhere Else

Franz Ferdinand - Do You Want To

We've also put these together into a Spotify playlist. Enjoy!
