He's never too far away from controversy but this time it seems like a top Irish band have ruffled the feathers of Liam Gallagher.

Liam and his brother Noel are creating headlines after announcing a huge reunion tour for Oasis in 2025.

But popular Irish band Fontaines DC, however, have this week raised eyebrows with their less-than-enthused comments on the upcoming reunion of the Gallagher brothers.

Speaking on Belgian radio last week, guitarist Carlos O’Connell and bassist Conor Deegan III were asked how they felt about Oasis reuniting for a huge tour in 2025.

“I couldn’t really give a s**t, to be honest,” O'Connell began,

I’m not excited about it either,” Deegan agreed. “Because I just feel like we kind of get caught up in such a nostalgic thing that we forget to make new things

Liam was never going to let the band members comments slide without making a comment. He  responded to a fan account on X writing:

Both bands have a gritty, no-nonsense approach to their lyrics but it doesn't seem that they'll be meeting up anytime soon to chat about their latest album's after recent comments.

Liam has previously outlined how Fontaines DC were the favourite band of his son Gene, who sings and plays guitar in the band Villanelle.

The brothers have yet to decide which artists will open for them at their sell-out shows next year and after their comments, it's unlikely Dublin based Fontaines DC will be top of their wishlist.
