The Friends Reunion aired in the States last night. It's available all day today to on the Sky box, and will air on Sky One at 8pm tonight.

The show has received mixed reviews as the cast reunited for HBO 17 years after the finale of the show.

Many were disappointed that they didn't learn much new about the series from the reunion. The writers and producers were a part of things, as were guest stars, celebrity fans and, annoyingly, James Corden, but what this was all really about was the six cast members that made Friends Friends.

Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Matthew Perry all genuinely seem to share a close bond after sharing the spotlight for 10 years on a show that made them all megastars. If nothing else came out of it, there was a genuine intrigue to see them back in the same place again. Time hasn't been the kindest to the male trio unfortunately, and the the girls basically look the same... kind of.

The nostalgia was certainly off the charts, and even if most of the laughs came from clips we've all seen a million times, the 100 minute reunion was enjoyable if not exactly seminal TV.

When the news of the reunion was leaked over a year ago, there was a point when many assumed it meant a reunion of the characters of Friends, rather than the cast. A new episode of Friends may well have been an absolute disaster, but it's one we'd have all liked to have seen anyway. It doesn't look as though that's on the cards any time soon, but one moment of the cast's conversation on the reunion gave us a glimpse into what exactly they imagine their characters to be up to all these later. Unfortunately, none of them are drinking unhealthy amounts of coffee in Central Perk these days.

What the Friends Cast Think The Friends Characters Are Up To Now:

Jennifer Aniston on Rachael and Ross:

Did we get married? Let's say we got married. I think we ended up getting married and we had some kids. And you still play with bones. Still a paleontologist.

Courteney Cox on Monica and Chandler:

Monica is still really competitive. Her kids have probably graduated, but she's still in charge of the bake-sell at elementary school. She's just got to keep things going, PTA, and you (Chandler) are making me laugh every day.

Lisa Kudrow on Phoebe:

Phoebe's married to Mike. They're probably in Connecticut, they had kid, and I think she was the advocate for her kids who were a little different, and all the other kids who were just a little different. Creating the arts programme and the music thing and all that.

Matt LeBlanc on Joey:

I think he probably opened a sandwich shop on Venice Beach.

The group also spoke about the same subject to People Magazine in advance of the special last week. Added to what they said on the show, Matthew Perry said Chandler would be "a wonderful father and comedy writer." Jennifer Aniston believes Rachel would have her own clothing line, while David Schwimmer also mentioned Ross might have invested in Joey's sandwich shop and lost a lot of money.

We're not sure any of it would make a great sitcom, but Joey's sandwich shop does sound like somewhere to visit.
