Throughout the ten seasons of Friends, we've all seen that even the best-laid plans can often go awry.

For example, we're certain that Chandler and Joey didn't plan on leaving the baby on the bus, Ross never intended for Rachel to find that list of reasons why he shouldn't date her, or Joey never wanted his fridge to break down, causing him to eat everything.

It's arguable that 2020 hasn't exactly been your day, your week, your month, or even your year, but the planned Friends reunion is coming, however, it has been delayed again.

The gang was supposed to come together for HBO Max’s planned unscripted reunion special featuring the stars of the sitcom.

However, that has been delayed once again due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and its impact on production.

Speaking with Deadline, Jennifer Aniston was slightly optimistic about the whole scenario: "It’s going to be super. You know what? This has also given us more time to make it even more exciting and more fun than it would have been. So I choose to see it as the glass is half-full that it got postponed. Look, we’re not going anywhere. You’re never going to get rid of Friends, sorry. You’re stuck with us for life guys.”

The unscripted special was originally set to shoot mid-March. However, when COVID shut down all production, it was moved to May, then August 17.

The original plan was to have the reunion special coincide with the launch of HBO Max’s on May 27.  At present, there's no new date for filming for the Friends reunion.
