The time has finally come. We have lived in the darkness for too long, we need to find out what's the best Irish video on YouTube. There have been laughs, there have been tears and there have more mishaps on live television then we care to mention but the question is: which of them entertained us the most?

Throughout this week we will be hosting the World Cup of Irish YouTube videos and asking you to vote for your favourite. On Tuesday we'll start off proceedings with a live draw, followed by a public vote on our last 16, before advancing to the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

On Thursday we'll be down to our final four, with the grand final taking place this Friday. But before all that, we have to decide on our nominees. We're currently putting together a longlist of candidates and need your help. Take a look at all the videos we have so far and if there's one you feel we missed then let us know. Once they meet our rules they will be considered for selection.

The Rules

  • The video must have been made in Ireland or involve Irish people
  • TV clips are allowed but not if they're a planned skit or full sketch e.g. Republic of Telly sketches, D'Unbelievables.
  • Comedy videos made specifically for YouTube are allowed e.g. Martin's Life, Sminky Shorts

We will be narrowing down the nominees to a final 16 before we conduct a seeded draw to get our first round match-ups. Here are all the videos that are currently being considered:
