Mike Bassett: England manager provided to be one of the most entertaining football movies in the last 20 years.

While the World Cup always provides drama, this movie showed a World Cup campaign like no other, as Mike Bassett, played by Ricky Tomlinson, takes the England job in bizarre circumstances at the end of their qualifying campaign to guide them to the 2002 World Cup.

While England have had some questionable managerial appointments through the years, nothing is more questionable than Mike Bassett, who's only experience up to this point is within the lower leagues of English football.

With all the odds stacked against him, Mike Bassett looks doomed to fail, with the press, inexperience and players at time against Bassett in Japan and South Korea, he rallies alongside his trusting coaching team, including Bradley Walsh and Philip Jackson, he guides England to one of their most successful tournaments in years.

Mike Bassett: England Manager provided hilarious and iconic scenes that stick in the memory of every football fan. While it may be a comedy full of hilarious moments, he wasn't afraid to give this England side the hairdryer treatment.

In Mike Bassett's last success before taking the England job, he was victorious with Norwich. Unfortunately for him and his team, celebrations literally took a wrong turn, leading them out to a dual carriage way.

The drama got underway before the tournament for his side, with the unforgettable Airport Scene with the Ireland and Scotland team turning into a brawl.
