Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, health staff have been on the frontline in order to save lives and keep the virus at bay.

With society resorting to things like social distancing, self-isolation and sometimes full-blown quarantine, those healthcare workers have been busily facing Covid-19 head on.

At 8pm this evening, people were encouraged to #ClapForOurCarers, a idea put forward for NHS workers in the UK, but echoed with gusto in Ireland for their HSE counterparts.

The response could be heard on the streets, with people showcasing their support for the heroes on the frontline. RTE even broadcast a special news bulletin to present the event.

Balls.ie would like to extend our gratitude to the frontline workers at this unprecedented time. From HSE staff at the coalface of the virus, to retail staff radically adapting to a new norm, to Gardai, postal workers and other people in the public service who are ensuring that public health and safety is paramount.

We salute you.
