At some point during the lockdown - maybe it was a few weeks ago, maybe it was three months ago, time has become lost as a concept during the pandemic - at some point we ran a poll on The Rewind asking you to vote for who you think is the best character in New Girl.
The results were definitive. With a whopping 43% of the vote, Schmidt was the runaway winner with only Nick coming within an asses' roar of him, and even he just managed 28%. And who are we to argue with the public? Schmidt is incredibly entertaining, constantly watchable and perpetually quotable.
