Liverpool Comedian Announces Dublin Show In Aid Of Seán Cox

Liverpool comedian John Bishop is coming to Dublin's 3Arena on Friday, January 10 to host a night of stand-up comedy in aid of the Seán Cox Rehabilitation Trust.

The trust was set up last year after the Liverpool supporter, who was attending the club's Champions League clash with Roma when he was the victim of an unprovoked attack, was left with life-changing injuries.

Joining Bishop on stage on the night will be Michael McIntyre, Dara O'Briain, Deirdre O'Kane, Joanne McNally, Jason Byrne and Des Bishop.

After the line-up for next year's show was revealed, Bishop said:

Seán Cox was just like any other football fan - an ordinary man on his way to watch his team playing a big game. Then this brutal attack happened and changed his life forever. It could have been any of us.

One way to support this very brave man is through laughter, so we’ve brought together a brilliant line-up of comedians to help raise money for Seán’s on-going rehabilitation. Please come and join us on Friday, 10 January as we support Seán

Since the attack in April 2018, the Dunboyne man has undergone 18 months of treatment but the rehabilitation continues and he is currently undergoing a 12-week programme in a specialist neurological facility in England. Earlier this year the 53-year-old made his first public appearance at the Aviva Stadium for a game between Liverpool and Republic of Ireland legends.

Tickets for the comedy night go on sale this Monday via Ticketmaster at 9am.
