Colm Cooper Thinks Roscommon Will Beat Mayo In Replay
By Shane Cahill

Apart from the minute or so which Roscommon held a seven-point lead early in the first half against Mayo, their All-Ireland quarter-final was generally a close affair.

It took a 74th minute Donie Smith bomb to level the game during a frantic six minutes of injury time.

Despite Roscommon being Connacht champions, Mayo went into the game as strong favourites. Aside from stretching their lead to two points late in the first half, the favourite's badge was one which Mayo wore nervously.

For the Bank Holiday Monday replay at Croke Park, Colm Cooper favours Roscommon to come out on top.

Speaking on the Sunday Game, the Kerryman said:

I think Roscommon are in a good place tonight. They know they can compete with Mayo now. They know their young players can play in Croke Park. I think they should take an awful lot of heart out of today.

I don't think we can rule Mayo out because time and time again they come back but Kevin McStay, I think he should be in a very positive place with him team tomorrow.
