Welsh football legend John Hartson enjoyed a fascinating career in the FA Cup, as he explained in the latest edition of Balls.ie's 'A Pint With' series with Budweiser. Hartson may never have played in an FA Cup final but he has no shortage of brilliant FA Cup memories.

Hartson announced himself to English football during the 1993-94 season, when Luton Town reached the semifinal of the competition. Hartson was then an unknown ginger-haired 19-year-old but his well-taken goal against top-of-the-table Newcastle sent Luton to Wembley. He scored the goal in front of his whole family and from there, he embarked on an incredible journey through British football.

A few years later, Hartson experienced the other side of the FA Cup when his West Ham team (managed by Harry Redknapp and featuring the likes of Lampard, Ferdinand and Cole) traveled to play his hometown club Swansea for an FA Cup replay in 1999. It was your classic FA Cup giantkilling and it was also Hartson's final game with the Hammers.

That's the FA Cup for you. Listen to Hartson explain it all on in this video.

Enjoy Budweiser sensibly.
