Kevin Doyle Pretending To Care About MLS Nonsense Makes Us Proud To Be Irish

Ever since the MLS published the words 'When you find out you're reunited with #bae in LA.' alongside a photo of an ecstatic Robbie Keane and Steven Gerrard, we've been very sceptical of their intentions.

Don't get us wrong. We'd love to see the league (even more so than it already is) become something that America can be proud of and eventually compete with the likes of the top European leagues. And we also fully understand that to do that they have to set themselves aside form the likes of the NFL, NBA and MLB.

However, for all our well wishes and platitudes, we just can't get behind all of their social media fun. Case in point, a special edition Valentine's Day emoji quiz.

Steven Gerrard plays it cool. Giles Barnes is strangely into it. Kyle Beckerman and Clint Dempsey are American and thus are used to this kind of carry-on so are thoroughly professional and play along as if it's natural.

Then comes Kevin Doyle.

He's the first to get it correct but his response to Overly Jovial Presenter No.1 is something that makes us eternally proud that we were born on this fine island. For all we know, our biting sarcasm could be keeping us from becoming a world superpower but at least it's given us the armour to subtly deal with this kind of carry-on.

(Doyle comes in around 0.40)
