1. Floyd Mayweather and Justin Bieber

Bieber was an ever present throughout Floyd Mayweather's victory over Saul Alvarez on Saturday night, accompanying him into the ring pre-fight and also to the post fight press conference.

2. Robbie Keane and Gerard Butler

This random photo of Robbie Keane and Gerard Butler popped up after the Galaxy won the MLS Cup last November. His wife, Claudine, has also been pictured with the Scottish actor in LA in the last year. Many might not forgive Robbie for this friendship following Butler's attempt at an Irish accent in PS. I Love You.

3. Robbie Keane and Morrissey

Robbie, once again, is also close with Morrissey, who is said to be his cousin, and the duo have often been pictured together. As we all know, Keano is quite the singer himself.

4. David Beckham and Snoop Lion

We could have gone for Tom Cruise, Tom Brady or Will Smith but Beckham's strangest friendship has to be with Snoop. The image below is from the day Becks coached Snoop's football team for a day.

5. Roger Federer and Anna Wintour

Like Beckham, Federer has many celebrity friends, but it's not every day somebody of Federer's fame pops up in New York with somebody more famous there than he is. Wintour is the editor of Vogue and has had two films made about her, The Devil Wears Prada and The September Issue.

6. Bastian Scweinsteiger and Angela Merkel

Ever since Germany's fairy tale run to the World Cup semi-finals in 2006 on home soil, Schweini and Angela Merkel have looked pretty tight at every major international event.

7. Andre the Giant and Samuel Beckett

Apparently Beckett used to drive the giant wrestler to school as a teenager because he was too large to fit into his family's car. During their drives in the Parisian countryside all they talked about was cricket.

8. Roy Keane and Adrian Chiles

Keane and Chiles do, of course, work together on ITV but we never expected them to turn up together at Croke Park. Keane took Chiles to the All-Ireland hurling semi final between Clare and Limerick last month.

9. Andy Murray and James Corden

Andy Murray isn't exactly regarded as the king of comedy, but then again, neither is Corden, but they still make an unlikely pairing for friendship. During the Wimbledon final in July, Corden could be seen looking very nervy in the crowd.

10. Brian O' Driscoll and Prince William

They met on the Lions tour of 2005, and again, below, as Prince William presented Brian O'Driscoll with the Six Nations trophy in 2009, but that doesn't quite explain why The Duke of Cambridge invited O' Driscoll to his wedding two years ago.

11. Victoria Azarenka and Redfoo from LMFAO

A couple of years ago, one of those guys from LMFAO started popping up at Azarenka's tennis matches at the US Open. Luckily for the rest of us we didn't have to watch him in the crowd this year as he wasn't around to see her reach the final.

12. Vladimir Klitschko and Hayden Panetierre

Well this pair have been slightly more than just friends, but there's no doubt they make an unlikely couple.
